DESCRIPTION:An event to explore the experiences of survivors of domestic abuse – working to tackle violence against women and girls as practitioners and survivors; exploring the real lived experience\, how interventions and individuals can make a difference and tools to help survivors recover from the trauma of domestic abuse. \nWe’re bringing together survivors and professionals from the Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) sector for an event in Bury St Edmunds – to explore how we can better support and care for survivors with lived experience. \n  \nWhat the event is about:\nThis free event is by and for survivors and professionals working across all areas of domestic and sexual violence services. DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday 16th July 6.45 – 9.30pm students from Abbeygate Sixth Form College will be hosting a Creative Showcase to celebrate achievement within Visual and Performing Arts. \nThis year they are working with community partner Restore WA (Bury St Edmunds Women’s Aid) who provide support for victims of domestic abuse. \nFunds raised will go towards the programmes that Restore provide for young people educating and supporting them to have healthy relationships. \nIn response to Restore WA’s education outreach programme\, many of the acts that feature in our creative showcase are responding to this sensitive issue. Students have created thoughtful and sensitive outcomes in drama\, dance and the spoken word which will be performed during the evening. Textiles students will showcase their haute couture outfits on the catwalk. \nThere will be an exhibition of work from Fine Art students on display and music performed in the interlude. A sale of drinks and cakes will help to raise money for Restore WA. \nTicket Cost:
