Volunteer

Could You Volunteer With Us?

At Restore, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. We simply couldn’t provide our services without the time, passion, and kindness of people like you.

History and Values

We were founded at the start of the “Battered Wives Movement” – two inspirational women from BSE travelled to the first Women’s Aid Federation Conference and upon their return decided to set up the first Refuge in BSE to help women in Suffolk. This Movement started to change the world …..and many women’s lives have been saved. These developments have continued into many parts of the world.

Our Mission

We seek, in all the services we provide, to offer a high-quality service to everyone we work with. To remain aware that every person, who uses our service, is a unique individual and that it is our role to support and enable that person to begin to come to terms with experiencing or witnessing domestic abuse.

Our Approach

Our Domestic Abuse Outreach Centre offers a range of community services. All services are offered to anyone who has been affected by Domestic Abuse and is in need of support.

How We Support Our Volunteers

We want every volunteer to feel valued and confident in their role. That’s why we offer:
  • Free ongoing training
  • Support and supervision
  • Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses, including travel

Volunteer Opportunities

We offer a wide range of roles to suit different interests and skills, including:
  • Support Group Assistants – making drinks, chatting with clients, helping with arts and crafts
  • Childcare Support – assisting in our crèches during support group sessions
  • Office & Administrative Help – general admin tasks that keep our services running smoothly
  • Befriending & Local Orientation – offering companionship and helping clients find their way around the local area
  • Gardening – helping maintain our well-loved refuge garden
  • Fundraising & Events – providing ad-hoc support at activities and community events
  • Service Ambassadors – helping spread the word about our work
If you have a different skillset or interest, we’d love to chat—there may be another way you can contribute!
